Several Ways to Treat Aortic Aneurysm

Aortic aneurysm problem is one of the most vascular problems that may cause sudden death. What is this problem? What are their causes and symptoms? And what are the methods of treatment of Aortic aneurysm?

Aortic Aneurysm:
It is a condition that infects the aorta and causes its diameter to expand abnormally until it becomes like a balloon.
This expansion may occur in the pectoral aorta, or in the abdominal aorta, but the method of treating the abdominal or pectoral aorta aneurysm is little different only in terms of the area of surgery.

Causes of Aortic Aneurysm:
There are many things that may lead to Aortic Aneurysm or to expand, the most important of which are:
• Genetic factor, where Marfan, Ehlers Danlos, Louise Dietz, and Turner  Syndromes cause weakness of blood vessel walls.
• Atherosclerosis results from the accumulation of fat layers on the artery wall, which causes weakening of the artery wall; This increases the likelihood of expansion.
• Infection, inflammation and bacteria in the aorta.
• Having a problem with the aortic valve responsible for taking blood out of the heart and into the aorta.
• Direct shock exposure as occurring in car accidents and others.

Risk Factors for Aortic Aneurysm:
There are many factors that, if found in a person, are more susceptible to Aortic Aneurysm, the most important factors are:
• Smoking.
• Deposition of fat in the aorta.
• Increase cholesterol rates in the blood.
• High blood pressure.
• Obesity.
• People with Marvan syndrome, whose aorta tissue is severely impaired.
• People with Syphilis.

Stages of Aortic Aneurysm Treatment:
The Treatment of Aortic Aneurysm goes through several consecutive stages, some of which aim to detect the presence of expansion through the step of accurate diagnosis, and some of which aim to treat the problem.

Diagnosis:
Aortic Aneurysm Disease is diagnosed through one of the following methods:
• Ultrasound on the chest, through which it is possible to know the diameter or amount of expansion in the aorta.
• CT scan, which is one of the best methods in the diagnosis of aorta disease, as it accurately reveals the location and extent of the aorta aneurysm.
• MRI.

Doctors also recommend that people over 60 should be periodically screened for early detection of Aortic Aneurysm before the patient is at risk of Artery Explosion.

Treatment Methods:
There are several methods leading to the treatment of Aortic Aneurysm . The choice of treatment method depends on how much the patient suffers from Aortic Aneurysm, and its position in the artery, as in some cases where the aneurysm is not large, the Vascular Surgeon prescribes some medications that regulate blood pressure, some medications that regulate the heart, and some drugs that lower blood cholesterol levels.
But some sophisticated cases may need surgical intervention to treat this problem before the artery is exposed to explosion.

Surgery for the treatment of Portal Aortic Aneurysm:
One of the following methods is used to treat the problem of aneurysm in the pectoral aorta:
• Replace the damaged part of the aorta with an artificial part through open-chest surgery.
• The placement of a stent inside the artery through an arterial catheter allows easy access to the expanded position.

Surgery for the Treatment of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm:
One of the following methods is used to treat the problem of aneurysm in the abdominal aorta:
• Replacing the expanded part with an artificial one through open abdominal surgery.
Placing a stent inside the artery via an arterial catheter.
